We classify the region as the North West of England so any charity in this area would come under this heading.
We were very impressed with the set up at Derian House when we gave a cheque to them in our early years. So strongly were the heart strings tugged that the Committee resolved thereafter to donate the proceeds of future on-board raffles (later termed Super Draw) to Derian House Children's Hospice. The Super Draw netted on average £500 but has been known to exceed £700 and on the last Day Tripper reached £750 profit. Our picture here shows Meryl Rishton handing over a cheque to Ken Roberts a volunteer helper at the Hospice in 2005.
As can be seen below our total giving to Derian House from charter train activities is a magnificent £10,000.
